Remember the victims of 9/11

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

Today I am thinking about all the poor souls who lost their lives in the attack on the world trade centre in New York on September 11th 2006. They were ordinary people living ordinary lives. They may have even been extraordinary people, such as the firefighters who so valiantly did their job in helping others. These people were innocent victims of political and religious bickering. God is God, no matter what he is known as by the various religions. A name is a name and nothing more. I could choose to call my God Billy and it should mean nothing more to anyone but that. To kill other people in the name of a religion is the worst sin a man can commit. What gives anyone the right to take anothers life. They are still children to their parents, fathers or mothers, brothers or sisters. The fact is that everyone means something to someone else. Why cause misery and heartache to someone in the name of religion. To do that in the pretense of politics is abhorrent.

I remember a report where a group of people got together and meditated and prayed for the world, they got all their friends to do the same and all at a specific time and day. The world changed that day. There were fewer deaths, fewer robberies, fewer murders at the time of the meditation. What was the reason for this? No one was able to actually determine that it was due to the prayers and meditation but it is a documented fact that this happened.

Today think and pray for others. Think about your friends and family and how precious they are to you. They could be gone in a heartbeat. Celebrate your life and how fortunate you are to have everything you have and be thankful to the universe. You don’t have to believe in a higher power but if you are not grateful for everything you have, how can you truly enjoy your life.

Remember all the victims of 9/11 and all the victims of violence around the world.
