Today I am thinking about all the poor souls who lost their lives in the attack on the world trade centre in New York on September 11th 2006. They were ordinary people living ordinary lives. They may have even been extraordinary people, such as the firefighters who so valiantly did their job in helping others. These people were innocent victims of political and religious bickering. God is God, no matter what he is known as by the various religions. A name is a name and nothing more. I could choose to call my God Billy and it should mean nothing more to anyone but that. To kill other people in the name of a religion is the worst sin a man can commit. What gives anyone the right to take anothers life. They are still children to their parents, fathers or mothers, brothers or sisters. The fact is that everyone means something to someone else. Why cause misery and heartache to someone in the name of religion. To do that in the pretense of politics is abhorrent.
I remember a report where a group of people got together and meditated and prayed for the world, they got all their friends to do the same and all at a specific time and day. The world changed that day. There were fewer deaths, fewer robberies, fewer murders at the time of the meditation. What was the reason for this? No one was able to actually determine that it was due to the prayers and meditation but it is a documented fact that this happened.
Today think and pray for others. Think about your friends and family and how precious they are to you. They could be gone in a heartbeat. Celebrate your life and how fortunate you are to have everything you have and be thankful to the universe. You don’t have to believe in a higher power but if you are not grateful for everything you have, how can you truly enjoy your life.
Remember all the victims of 9/11 and all the victims of violence around the world.

what you link pain to and what you link pleasure to shape your destiny. Each of us has learned and adopted a unique pattern of behaviors to get ourselves out of pain and into pleasure. Some people do this by drinking, smoking, overeating or verbally abusing others. Others do it by exercising, conversing, learning, helping others, or making a difference in some way.
What are some of your pain-avoiding and pleasure inducing patterns? How have they shaped your life up until now? Make a list of these strategies. When you want to feel better, do you watch TV? Light a cigarette? Go to sleep? What are some of the more positive ways in which you could move away from pain and toward pleasure?
Forget the past and concentrate on now and the future. What you have done in the past is merely experience. Don’t beat yourself up if you have formed bad habits to make you feel good or to avoid pain. There is nothing you can do about the past as you can never change it. However you can forge a new future and create a better present for yourself each and every day. So think about how you can create the present and future YOU want for YOU.

are we merely animals responding like Pavlov’s dogs to punishment and reward? Of course not. One of the miracles of being human is that we can decide what causes us pain and pleasure. A hunger striker, for example, can undergo physical pain yet transform the experience into moral pleasure by focusing on the positive impact of calling the world’s attention to a worthwhile cause.
Each of us has this power of choice. The secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure to your advantage.
Is there an area of your life in which you feel unnecessary pain?
Are you perhaps reacting rather than deliberately choosing? How could you change your focus and turn a seemingly painful event into a pleasurable opportunity to learn, grow, or help others?

To get what you want, you must discover what’s preventing you from taking action. Think of something you avoided doing until the last minute: your taxes, for example. Isn’t it true that you put it off simply to avoid the pain of the moment, only to experience even greater pain later on?
But, what happens on April 14th? Our procrastination disappears because we quickly change what we believe (associate in our minds) will bring us pain or pleasure. Suddenly not taking action is much more painful then just doing it.
How can you use this to change your life? In the future, instead of asking, “How can I avoid doing this painful task?” Ask, “If I don’t take action now, what will this ultimately cost me?”
Pain can be your friend if you use it effectively.
Note: On April 14th in the USA every resident has to file their taxes, most people put this off until the last moment and then have a mad scramble to file their taxes before the midnight cut off when fines apply to those who have put this task off.

Think of something you enjoy or experience today that once was merely a goal. Many obstacles may have intervened in your pursuit of its attainment, yet now it’s part of your life. As you follow your new dreams and encounter obstacles, remember you’ve been through this before and you’ve succeeded!
The human spirit is truly unconquerable. The will to win- the will to succeed, to shape one’s life, to take control - can be harnessed only when you decide what you want and believe that no challenge, no problem, no obstacle can keep you from it. Obstacles are merely a call to strengthen your resolve to achieve your worthwhile goals.
Think today about Jane Tomlinson, she was the lady who was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Against all odds she completed countless marathons, triathlons, Ironman events, Ultra marathons and raised millions of £s for her chosen charity over the 7 years since her diagnosis. She died this week and was a true embodiment of the power of the human spirit. Now I am not saying you need to become an ultra athlete but if you can remember her name and what she overcame then you too can overcome any obstacle that presents itself to you.
Jack Canfield has a great saying “When the universe says no I just say next please” This applied to the book he wrote which you may know “Chicken Soup for the Soul”, Canfield was rejected countless times but he had his vision and dream and nothing was going to stop him in achieving its attainment. The crazy thing was that even when his book was published and he was a great success he did not stop challenging himself there. He set a new target to sell a million copies in one day. This had never been done before but once he had decided and committed the ways and then means to do this soon revealed themselves to him.
If you too want to create a life of meaning and to challenge yourself to reach new heights then you must attend Unleash The Power Within

The venerable comedian George Burns understood the importance of having something to look forward to. Summing up his life philosophy he said, “You have to have something to get you out of bed. I can’t do anything in bed anyway. The most important thing is to have a point, a direction you’re headed”
When he reached his nineties he was still sharpening his wit, still taking on movie and TV projects and booked himself for a performance at the London palladium in the year 2000, when he would have been 104 years old! How’s that for creating a compelling future?
Most people overestimate what they can do in a year and underestimate what they can do in a decade. What will you be doing ten years from now?

What is the ultimate goal? Perhaps it is aspiring to contribute something of value. Finding a way to help others - those we care about deeply - can inspire us for a lifetime. There is always a place in the world for those who are willing to give of their time, energy, capital, creativity and commitment.
What simple act of kindness could you show another person today? Decide now, take action, and be sure to appreciate how this makes you feel.
This person or people does not have to be someone you know, in fact showing kindness to a stranger is often one of the finest rewards you can get. It could be helping an elderly person with their shopping, giving up your seat for a lady or again an elderly person, buying lunch someone unfortunate enough to beg, dropping into a children’s home with a big bag of sweets and chocolate for the children to share, visiting a retirement home to just sit and talk with one of the residents who never gets visitors. These are just a few examples of ways we can improve others lives in a little way to us but a massive way for them.
People are often forgotten. Look at the many lonely people in the world and the people whose lives have been changed through circumstance, often we cannot change the whole world but we can change the world of one person at a time. A quick story for you now on that note and then I’ll finish……..
There is a famous beach where every year hundreds and thousands of crabs wash up onto the beach and slowly die. One day someone noticed a lady throwing crabs back into the ocean one at a time, that someone asked this lady what on earth she was doing because it was hardly making any difference because there was so many crabs and wasn’t this pointless!
The lady stopped what she was doing and reflected quietly, then she picked up another crab and threw it back into the sea. She then turned and simply replied ” made a difference to that one”.
We can make a difference to the world but we can only do it one person at a time.
If you want to make a difference in your own life and in turn others lives enroll now for Unleash The Power Within

How may times have you heard the lament “Is that all there is?”
The Apollo astronauts, who had prepared nearly their entire lives for their moon landing, were euphoric in their historic moment of glory, yet upon returning to earth some became terribly depressed. After all, what was left to look forward to? What could be a bigger goal than making it to the moon, exploring outer space? Perhaps the answer is to be found in exploring an equally uncharted frontier: the inner space of the mind and heart.
We all need a continued sense of emotional and spiritual growth; it is the food on which our souls thrive. As you approach the attainment of the goals you’ve pursued, be sure to immediately design for yourself a new compelling future.

Don’t put off joy and happiness. To so many people, goal setting means that only someday, after they’ve achieved something great, will they be able to enjoy life. There’s a huge difference between achieving to be happy and happily achieving.
Strive to live each day to its fullest, squeezing all the joy you can out of each moment. Instead of measuring your life’s value by your progress towards a single goal, remember that the direction you are headed is more important than temporary results.
What is your current direction? Are you moving towards your goals or away from them? Do you need to make a course correction? Are you enjoying life to the fullest?
If not make a change in one of these areas NOW!
If you really want to change your life for the better then you need to have the best map to get there. Let Tony Help you to create your own roadmap to a better life, enroll for Unleash The Power Within and create your ideal life. click here

The real purpose of a goal is what it makes of you as a human being while you pursue it.
WHO YOU BECOME AS A PERSON IS THE ULTIMATE REWARD.
Take a moment now to write a brief paragraph describing all the character traits, skills, abilities, attitudes and beliefs you need to achieve all of your goals.
If you think about it carefully you can see what this means. When I made the decision after Unleash The Power Within that I would run the London Marathon I really did not think I could do it. I hated running, I was overweight, unhappy, tired all the time and had very little focus. However once I had made that decision and in my mind I had achieved my goal there was nothing going to stop me.
Even when my wife said to me about a month before the race that I was not ready and was mad to even think I could do it, this did not stop me. I was becoming an athlete, not the sort who we see on the TV in the Olympics but my own sort of athlete. Do you know only 600,000 people have ever completed the London Marathon and that I am in the top 1% of the country using this statistic. Now I am never going to win any medals for running but I have become an athlete in my mind.
The person I have become no longer accepts mediocrity. Any challenge I set myself I know I will achieve as long as in my heart I believe I can achieve it. The how’s and the many reasons not to try are there but i have given up making excuses for not doing things and instead find great reasons why I should do things.
If you would like help to prioritize your goals and Unleash your own true Power within you go to UPW In February 2008
